Messing With Time

The play is set inside (the kitchen) and outside the front door of an ordinary London home.

The characters, created in all their detail by the children involved, are not quite so ordinary.

The story opens with a scene between two extremely powerful characters, Zarward the sorcerer and King Jabberwocky. Zarward has a plan concerning his ability to become invisible, and the house where some children live. He also manages to annoy the King.

Next we are introduced to three sisters, and the ‘adjusted’ TV in their kitchen.

These girls inadvertently get in the way of Zarward’s plans. So he calls in his imp slave, Scarlett to help.

The brother arrives, which further complicates matters for the power-obsessed Zarward and King Jabberwocky.

Finally a young pick-pocket turns up from the Victorian era (note the ‘TV’), and along with the more errant of the sisters, they ensure, through a series of coincidences, that Zarward’s plans go completely awry.

The children struggle to hold off the furious Zarward; and fortunately most of them are saved in the end by King Jabberwocky who has been hoping to show off his might.
